2010-2011 School Year is Here!
Welcome to the 5th grade blog page! We are excited about updating this page and making it a more useful tool for our students and parents this year! Please come back and visit us from time to time to check out what we are doing to enhance this page.
Our 2011 Orlando trip has already been planned and students just completed their first fundraiser of the year. Raffle Ticket sales ended this past week. Also, first installments were due for trip payments this past Thursday, September 30th. The payments are $70.00 per person going on the trip. We are looking forward to another fabulous trip this year!
A full schedule of payments, tentative fundraisers, and dates for the trip will be posted this week.
We are having a great year thus far and are enjoying partnering with you to help your child grow and learn!
Sincerely,
5th Grade Teachers

Dear Parents, we have copied here for you a request from out Science Lab teacher. Help with any of these items would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for all that you do!

Teachers I need you to help me collect some items that I need for Science Lab. It is hard to come up with enough items for an entire grade. I would really appreciate any help you can give. Here is a list of items needed.
scoops from powdered laundry detergent
plastic caps from liquid fabric softeners , liquid laundry detergent or anything about that size
vegetable or soup cans (please check for sharp edges)
Clear plastic quart size jars with lids ( Mayo, Pickles etc.)
You can put them in my box or send them by a student. Thanks for your help!

Just Say No Poster Contest
5th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in a Just Say No poster contest. In order to participate, your child will need a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of white card stock. Poster card stock of this size is available for purchase at the local Dollar Stores. The posters will have to be completed at school. Students will either be allowed time in class as a group to complete, or will have to complete when they have finished their assignments for the day. Posters will be on display at the Jackson County Fair October 6th-11th.
